Le Lapin à la Moutarde 

In the manner of a still life on a black background, this painting sets the scene for a series of inanimate objects that tell the dramatic story of the rabbit with mustard sauce. Occupying the center of the painting is a black gas stove with a mustard-colored casserole pot on top. To its right is a dead rabbit hanging on the wall, and to its left we can see the weapon with which it was killed. Behind the gas stove are ceramic tiles on the wall in the form of a chessboard, reminiscent of a different kind of hunt.
